John Dodd welcomes cash for better bus facilities

Southport is to benefit from a share of Merseyside's success from Government funding with the award of £4 million from the Department for Transport’s Better Bus Area Fund Bid, announced by Lib Dem Norman Baker, Minister for Transport.

The funding will allow a package of measures designed to improved bus interchange facilities at Southport town centre with the provision of new bus stops and shelters to produce a 'transport hub'.

Cllr John Dodd member of Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority (Merseytravel) said "improved facilities are good news for the passengers of Southport".
