A message from
Southport Neighbourhood Police Team
Southport Police
are warning residents of the High Park and Scarisbrick
New Road areas of Southport
of an increase in house burglaries. The roads which have been targeted include:
Some of the
houses involved were accessed via unlocked doors, offenders have also used a
garden spade at one location which was kept in an unlocked garden shed. The
stolen property includes car keys and vehicle, handbags, and electrical items.
Please keep doors
and windows secure and ensure garden tools are locked away to prevent thieves
using them to force entry to premises. It is recommended that identifiable
goods are registered on a property registration website such as immobilise.com
which makes stolen goods harder to sell and easier to trace back to the genuine
owner if recovered.
