Pavement trees brighten things up the street scene - and so it's good that we've now got some on Rufford Road at long last.
The money from the council for this has come from special money that can only be used on environmental improvements, which includes planting saplings.
We've been trying to get our share of this cash for trees for Crossens for quite some time. Let's hope that the young trees survive and are not victims of mindless vandalism.
Replacement trees for old ones that had to be felled last year are due to be planted shortly along Beresford Drive. Again the money has come from money that the council gets that can only be spent on environmental and cannot be used for other improvements.
