New pharmacy in Churchtown

No updated information now in October about this project since we reported it months ago. See news item in italics below. The company is certainly taking its time developing the old toilets site.

It looks as if there is going to be strong competition between chemists in Churchtown. The old public toilet building, close to Boots, has been bought by Lloyds pharmacy, which is an international business and one of the biggest companies of its kind in the country. The company does not currently have shops in Southport, according to their web site. The nearest ones are in Crosby and Blackpool.

We understand that they plan to open extended hours. The existing building will be demolished and a two-storey new building erected. This is all subject to planning permission. The company obtained planning consent some time ago, but has put in a new revised scheme recently.
