Local waste recycling beats record

The amount of waste that local households send for recycling has reached a record level.

Latest national figures show that the amount of household waste sent for re-use, recycling or composting in Sefton now stands at just over 42% - the highest on Merseyside.

Cabinet Member Environmental, Cllr Simon Shaw, said: "Once again Sefton residents are top of the local league for recycling."
